White Guilt 101

As most of you likely know, against his better judgment McCain went on The View, which should really be titled "The Ignorant View of a Bunch of Ugly Women - Except Elizabeth Hasselbeck". While on "The Ignorant View", McCain commented something to the effect that, [paraphrase] "…I want judges on the bench who do not mess with the Constitution…", meaning that he doesn't want judges who disregard the Constitution, and thus legislate from the bench. Now McCain's mistake was attempting to provide a serious, well-thought-out answer to a bunch of Liberal ignoramuses, except Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

During McCain's response, Whoopi Goldberg could hardly contain herself. She had the perfect question. So as McCain pontificated, Goldberg was literally squirming in her seat like a first-grader who needed to "go pee pee". She finally interrupted, saying something to the effect, "…So what? You want me to go back to being a slave?"

She had gotten McCain, because after all it is the Republicans who have oppressed Blacks all these years, right? All together now, "NOT!"

This was an "Oh my God", game-changing sound-bite opportunity, that unfortunately McCain missed. How could he miss this opportunity to teach, and put Whoopi back in her cage? I know. Teaching Whoopi would be like trying to teach a gorilla Shakespeare!

So I thought to myself, perhaps McCain, like most Americans is not armed with proper knowledge…history! With the proper historical ammunition, McCain would not have been caught off guard, and he wouldn't have performed the mea culpa to Goldberg, as he ultimately did in view of all of America's NOW generation.

So what should McCain have said to Whoopi? Since you asked, I will tell you verbatim what McCain should have said.

"Whoopi, you obviously are not a student of history, as it was the Republican Party who freed your sorry Black ass from slavery!"

How about that for a sound bite?! And it would have been step one in McCain's education of America on the Republican Party and on Black history for that matter.

Now admittedly, perhaps McCain should not say, "…freed your sorry Black ass", and perhaps toned it down a bit in case there is media bias against him? But he could have said something like, "…freed Black people". You get my point. McCain missed his moment, and what I believe could have been an election-saving moment.

So this got me thinking, that if a Republican presidential candidate doesn't even know enough about history to tell Whoopi Goldberg that her "reality check bounced", then my white brethren and sisteren likely are not properly armed either? Thankfully, you have The League of Black Republican Superheroes!

My treatise is, if I held a gun to the head of the average American, and asked him to name ten Blacks of significance, pre-1950, you know I would have to shoot 99% of them.

Don't believe me? Then try it!...The squeamish should turn away right now… Booyah!

So what is the significance of this short history lesson? To arm you against those who would call you racist because you are a proud Republican. With the knowledge you will gain today, you can debate any Hypocrat, and thus "flip the script" or turn racism back on them. You will be able to prove to them that it is they who are either racists or stupid...or both.

So here are three of the most powerful bullets in your gun, yes I love you gun-toting NRA-loving Republicans. You are my people, which is why I scribe!

  1. All legislation to protect the rights of Blacks was initiated by Republicans! That sentence is worth reading again, isn't it? This may come as a surprise to you, since Democrats have usurped the Civil Rights laws as their own. You will learn below how they were able to accomplish this.
  2. All legislation to prevent Blacks from voting was sponsored by Democrats. Yet another sentence worthy of a re-read! Many of you may find that shocking, but it is true.
  3. Finally, what was not legislated to prevent Blacks from voting was accomplished through intimidation tactics of…you guessed it, Democrats and their minions, such as organizations like the Klu Klux Klan.

So here is the brief history. The first civil rights laws were passed right after slavery, and were the first legislative attempts to assure African Americans an equal political and legal status. Those acts were the Civil Rights Acts of 1866, 1870, 1871, and 1875, all Republican-sponsored legislation.

I promise not to belabor these in great detail, except to explain what they covered. Remember, you need this information to battle White "meddlers" and elitists, as well as "silly Negros". I have underlined some "code", so that you see where the Democrats fit in all of this.

1866 - A law passed by the Republican-dominated Congress on April 9, 1866, during Reconstruction to protect the rights of freed slaves and to guarantee equal rights to blacks. It was passed "…over a March 27 veto by President Andrew Johnson, a Democrat." The 1866 act was of dubious constitutionality and was reenacted in 1870, only after the passage of the Fourteenth Amendment.

1871 - In March 1871, President Ulysses S. Grant, a Republican requested from Congress legislation that would address the problem of KKK violence, which had grown steadily since the group's formation in 1866. Congress responded on April 20, 1871, with the passage of the Ku Klux Klan Act, originally introduced as a bill to enforce the provisions of the Fourteenth Amendment and for other purposes. So what was this act meant to do? The Civil Rights Act of 1871 made it a crime to deny any citizen equal protection under the law by means of "force, intimidation or threat."

1875 - The act of 1875 further guaranteed blacks the right to use public accommodations, but this legislation was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 1883. Well guess what the makeup of the Supreme Court was in 1883? That is indeed a rhetorical question, but I will answer it, in case I have a Democrat, excuse my Hypocrat reading my blog. The Supreme Court of 1883 was made up of Democrats, yes racists!

After the Civil Rights Act of 1875 there was no more significant federal legislation in this field until the Civil Rights Acts of 1957 and 1960, although several states passed their own civil-rights laws.

1957 – The Civil Rights Act of 1957 was introduced during the presidency of Dwight Eisenhower, a Republican. This act is credited with kick-starting the civil rights legislative program that was to include the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Eisenhower was able to get 1957 Civil Rights Act passed, though cynics would say that "…this was simply to win the 'Black Vote'". In 1957 roughly 20% of African Americans were even registered to vote, so it was essentially irrelevant, given the numbers that actually voted. Good try, Hypocrats!

Now there is really no need to go further, except to explain that Eisenhower's civil rights program was the runway for all civil rights legislation to launch. And LBJ's signing of The 1964 Civil Rights Act was purely symbolic, and based on the vision and previous work of Eisenhower.

But enough about us! Let's talk about the Hypocrats. Needless to say, I have proven my point that these people wanted to keep Blacks in slavery, and are still succeeding to this day. But they also tried sneaky tactics along the way to minimalize Blacks, like the 3/5th Compromise1 and Poll Taxes2.

And Hypocrats did not only try to stop Blacks from voting, but also from enjoying the same way of life that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Democrats created things like Jim Crow Laws3 and Black Codes4, all legislation undone by Republicans.

So in short, when confronted by Hypocrats or silly Negros, you should now have enough of a historical backdrop to "flip the script".

That's my rant!

13/5th Compromise – I won't give you a bunch of historical goblet-goop. Suffice it to say that the Democrats, which were mainly the Southern states wanted their cakes and to eat it too. They didn't want to recognize their slaves as humans. However they wanted them counted for census purposes, thus giving them more representation in Congress. The Northern states, in an effort to thwart slavery and bestow full rights to slaves, proposed legislation that would not allow the Hypocrats to count slaves, unless slaves were given rights. The "compromise" was the 3/5th Compromise, which bestowed upon Blacks, 3/5th rights. So essentially Republicans got Blacks some representation.

2Poll Taxes - A poll tax, in the sense of a discrimination tax which was a pre-condition of the exercise of the right to vote, emerged in some US states in the late 19th century. After the right to vote was extended to all races by the enactment of the Fifteenth Amendment, many Southern states, code words for Democrats, enacted poll tax laws which often included a grandfather clause that allowed any adult male whose father or grandfather had voted in a specific year prior to the abolition of slavery to vote without paying the tax. These laws achieved the desired effect of disfranchising African-American and Native American voters as well as poor whites who immigrated after the year specified.

3Jim Crow Laws - The Jim Crow laws were state and local laws enacted between 1876 and 1965. They mandated de jure segregation in all public facilities, with a "separate but equal" status for black Americans and members of other non-white racial groups. Some examples of Jim Crow laws are the segregation of public schools, public places and public transportation, and the segregation of restrooms and restaurants for whites and blacks. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_crow_laws]

4Black Codes – The Black Codes were laws passed on the state and local level mainly in the rural Southern states in the United States to limit the civil rights and civil liberties of African Americans. While some northern states also passed legislation discriminating against African Americans before the Civil War, the term Black Codes is most commonly associated with legislation passed by Southern states after the Civil War in an attempt to control the labor, movements and activities of African Americans. There were signs posted in towns to keep blacks from integrating with the whites. These signs read "if black, stay black!" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Codes_in_the_USA]

Kevin,

I wish YOU were running for president-- you would have my vote, in a second! If only the people in the lower middle class (of ALL color and heritage) could be empowered to make something of themselves-- not to be given a handout, and kept as the captive audience (essentially, the SLAVES) of the Democratic Party. I worry so much that if he gets into office, Obama means to keep these people dependent upon him and his party for handouts, just enough to feed them, but not enough to help them up-- and because these people will still need the handouts to survive, they are guaranteed bought votes for them.

The part I don't get, is where Rev. Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson come in. They appear to hate Obama-- yet they will do nothing to stop him-- yet, their true agenda does not appear to be his. I keep getting the feeling that BOTH the good reverends, and Obama are after the same agenda-- keep the poor, POOR- but the Reverends want them poor and angry, with broken family ties, while Obama just wants them to be poor but fed, like lap dogs. And they don't care about all the poor-- just the African American ones-- who is the racist?

Sad thing-- the rest of Professional America is seeing intelligent professionals of ALL races, coming up, and making strides in business, across the country. Franklin Raines and James Johnson have done more to discredit successful African American professionals, along with Obama, than any white person I know.

As far as Whoopi, when was she ever a slave? And why, for goodness sake, does Barbara Walters think that Whoopi has anything relevant to contribute, here? This is why I don't watch the VIEW.

Regarding Oprah, she has much to be thankful for, from the establishment-- many good people of all races have helped her to be successful- she took a major step backward this year, in supporting Obama as she did. My respect for her, and that of those I know, is GONE. She did not have to back Obama openly like this, very unprofessional, downright schoolgirlish-- it was a huge mistake on her part, and I consider her a dupe. I will never put another dollar into anything that will profit Harpo Productions.

For the same reason that I do not throw my reputation behind candidates, just because they are white, I do not expect that others would do the same, on the basis of race.

For us to truly be a nonbigoted, multicultural nation, we must practice our colorblindness. For me even to say this, will probably offend SOMEONE. Oh well.....

The view is typical of the blindness of the liberal movie media, I am grateful that Elizabeth Hasselbeck is there. Hopefuly she had opened some eyes of the viewers.

Unfortunately, the other members of the panel use her as kind of a comic relief for their radical POV, and the audience eats it up. There don't seem to be enough hours in the day, however, thanks for getting the word out, Kevin.

Right on the money. One renaming the show according to your suggestions is long overdue. Second racism and this election. Democrats were TRYING to make this NOT about race, but when you see 98% of African-Americans voting for an African-American.... Really?? Race was not an issue in this election?? As far as McCain missing opportunities. I don't even know how many he missed. I lost count and still cannot figure out why he missed so many...

Many thanks to theblacksphere for providing a lot of ammo for targetting stupid liberals. First, you have to get their attention. . .

Whoopi is magnificent at comedy. . .she should concentrate on getting her acting career back on track. The View is a waste of her talent. I think her stint there is costing her the support of many of her movie fans. Her political meanderings are strictly kneejerk brainwashed reactions. . . all hot air and no substance.

I have the feeling that McCain missed so many opportunities because he's been in the Senate too long and has lost his edge in competitive critical thinking...

Also, McCain probably decided in the middle of his campaign that he didn't want to take on the very challenging job of turning around the floundering titanic our economy has become. . .plus maybe he suffered from some white guilt about competing with the Messiah for the Presidency.

McCain was a horse$hit candidate, who was force-fed to primary voters via the Republican Party machine that stacks the up-front primaries with states that allow Democrats and independents to vote in the Republican primary.

He missed so many frikkin opportunities to slam dunk the other horse$hit candidate; Barack Hussein Obama; but he failed to capitalize on each and every one of them.

Debate "moderators" and Hussein himself offered McCain so many waist-high change-ups that a skilled candidate could have made the campaign look like a home-run derby.

Instead, we had to sit in agony as McCain wiffed ball after ball, proving himself so inept, he could not find a way to beat perhaps the worst candidate the Democrats have ever fielded.

Wish McCain was thinking on his feet.

I'd love to see someone put Whoopie in her place, wherever that is.

While I respect McCain for his war record I agree that he was the weakest possible canidate in the presidntail race. It was like he was afraid to say anything that his base believed in meant anything. Illeagal immigration was the hottest topic in the counrty until McAmnesty got the nod, then it was swept under the carpet. The leaders of the party had decided from the start who they wanted to run and probably knew from the get go that he didn't stand a chance to beat Obama or Clinton. The only subject that McCain ever talked about was Obama's affiliations with Wright and Ayers, like they thought that could win an election.

Why then, my friends do you continue to support the Republican Party. Had the current GOP "leadership" been in power in years gone by, the black folks would still be 3/5 of a person.

This article is great!

Kevin you are so right. It is the ignorant view. I wish Elizabeth would just leave so the show will be cancelled. McCain missed a lot of opportunities to set the record straight but that certainly was one of his worse not setting Whoopi straight. It would seem the only history libs and dems would have us remember is JFK as the prince harming of civil rights and paint us reps as white folk who just don't care. I know my heritage and I thank God my ancestors were God fearing people who believed in freedom and rights for all. The very same people who also believed women were not second class citizens and also had the right to vote. These are the values I was taught as a child that God does not look at the color of ones skin or their gender, he loves us all the same.
I am the first to admit our country has a sordid past of violence and unrighteousness with nuts on both sides of the fence some of which still continues today but with that same history shouldn't we at least get it right and remember it the way it really was. It is only because of the efforts of those preceding JKF that we have come as far as we have even to have elected a bi-racial president. I did not vote for him but I don't like what he stands for or the change he claims he'll do, my wallet is thin enough.

Once again - a truly entertaining article. You got me thinking. You know how at the end of a viagra commercial they mention that if your erection lasts more than four hours you should consult a physician? A better and quicker remeday would be to tune in a clip from "The View" on your DVR.

Looking forward to more of your work..............

Kevin, isn't it amazing how the truth can be subverted so easily by the Left? The conservative Christian movement and Republican party's actions are why slavery was questioned and subsequently ended (thank God). Somehow the Dems managed to high-jack the issue and make it a medal to wear on their chest that they didn't earn. I fully believe they want Black folks dependent on the government and have no interest in their true economic freedom. We on the Right DO. I want to see every Black family in this nation prosper, send their kids to college and not need a damn thing from Washington, DC. It's been a rough road for alot of these folks but I have faith they can do it if the government would just get out of the way.

Another great post, Kevin! I have grown so tired of leftists raving on about "those racist RepubliKKKans" that I have taken to countering with some facts and history about "those racist DemoKKKrats."

It would seem that nobody learns actual history any more - just Leftist/"Progressive" propaganda.

I've put together a couple of posts on the subject, if you're interested feel free to borrow. This one, "Those racist DemoKKKrats - in their own words" has a collection of quotes from well-known Democrats.

There's also another about how the Democrats have "whitewashed" their own party's history: "'Official' DemoKKKrat History Whitewashed."

Keep up the good work, and have a blessed Christmas and wonderful New Year.
