Normally I wouldn't have even watched Obama. However after his 60 Minutes roasting, I wanted to see how he would over-react. So I indulged the narcissist.
Yet again, I really looked hard to find what so impressed all the Liberal wieners about Obama's so-called eloquence. Being completely objective here, I have seen better speeches in Off-Off Broadway soliloquies. There was no eloquence to be found...none, nil, nyet. Apparently if Obama can't steal words from some dead Republican, his eloquence goes AWOL.
Obama stumbled and bumbled his way through what was a relatively short and unimpactful speech. And he read it so fast that I can only surmise he was late for a hoops game. He couldn't wait to get to the canned Q&A, lest his teleprompter put up the wrong words. I don't know what the flunk I'm doing. I'm Barack Obama, and my teleprompter approved this message.
The speech was regurgitated Obama vomit from his last twenty speeches. I've begun timing him for reminding us, that he inherited this mess, or some paraphrase thereof. He indeed rode the bull a full eight seconds…Yee-HAW, before reminding us. I checked with the judges, and…it was a valid ride!
Here was Obama's statement, emphasis added by me:
Now, it's important to remember that this crisis didn't happen overnight and it didn't result from any one action or decision. It took many years and many failures to lead us here.
We know this time, we know it will take ONE failure and exactly four years to flush America down the toilet.
Obama goes on to sell us his tim-plated turd:
The first step we took was to pass a recovery plan to jump-start job creation and put money in people's pockets. And this plan's already saved the jobs of teachers and police officers. It's creating construction jobs to rebuild roads and bridges. And yesterday I met with a man whose company is reopening a factory outside of Pittsburgh that's rehiring workers to build some of the most energy-efficient windows in the world.
This week -- Jobs created 42. Jobs lost 673,272. 'Nuff said.
And I wonder what that man who owns the company in Pittsburgh would say. Well, what he said isn't quite like it is, as we are not actually rehiring. In fact I will likely be laying a few people off.
Then he said this:
At the end of the day, the best way to bring our deficit down in the long run is not with a budget that continues the very same policies that have led us to a narrow prosperity and massive debt. It's with a budget that leads to broad economic growth by moving from an era of borrow-and-spend to one where we save and invest.
Here's the wrap:
Does Obama actually read this crap before it goes on the teleprompter?
This budget is so large it's getting difficult to find examples on how to envision it. If you stacked $100 bills to Neptune, the Obama budget could make two trips between the planet and earth. Let me put it this way, if you have to use the solar system to compare something to, it's too freaking BIG!
The sad part is that Obama is a fanatic! After all the warnings by China, and the most of America preparing to pollute the rivers with tea, Obama believes he needs to spend even more. He's a shopaholic, and he needs an intervention.
When Pelosi and Reid see the need to trim pork, you know we've gone too far. But Obama left us with this hopeful comment:
The road to that prosperity is still long, and we will hit our share of bumps and setbacks before it ends. But we must remember that we can get there if we travel that road as one nation, as one people.
It's always thrilling to hear such inspired words. "…one nation, as one people."
I'd like a touch of cyanide with my kool-aid...please!
That's my rant!

I'll be honest, I fell asleep half way through his little speech. I guess I didn't miss much. I did see he now has a jumbotron for a teleprompter.

Always good stuff from theblacksphere
@Toby - If you've see one Obama speech, you've seen them all.
@2612 - You flatter me!

I really wonder if the man (like the rest of the delusional Dems) actually believes his own lies? I mean he stands up there telling the American people that he is going to balance the budget, when is actions thus far have proven to completely abandon that concept. I don't know what's more frustrating the fact that he is flat out lying, or the fact that there is still a portion of the population buying his ginormous line of shit.
Im with you on the so call eloquence of Obama, this was a media mind game for voters, I know many people that speak better than Obama. Obama will 'uh' you to death, and never answer the question. As far as the prime time show, Obama is now on a 'ego trip' he's trying to show the libs he's in control, so he get notes from congress and the senate, never read anything, then run to the nearest camera and read the teleprompter. To prove this he signed the federal funded stem cell bill one day, and two days later he signed a bill for no federal fund for stem cell research, so he not reading anything. How can he sell America on this 3.6 trillion dollar proposal and have no report on the stimulus progress. Anybody that invest money look for the results before more money invested. Two months and we have four years to go.
EmptySuit - Well said!

The administration has already hinted that they don't know what to do because the economic "problem" is significantly more complex than they expected. The best role for leadership is to butt out of trying to solve problems that are questionably outside the scope of responsibility of the government rather than make controversial changes, especially moves like this dangerously increasing budget deficit.
All the federal government has ever done for the economy is set up disastrous bubbles that pop and hurt millions of Americans when they do.
I think if it wasn't for the media this man would not have won, but why did they choose him? Were they told to? Every place you look his mug was on, aol, google, the papers. What is this? And they are still doing this. Every time he sneezes we know about it, like we care. But you couldn't get them to cover Bush. The media gets a lot of the blame. I think we need to start telling them we place the blame with them also.

Maybe some still have hope for change....the delusional ones I guess.

With Obama, it's all about the FEAR. It's in the playbook.
@LadyJulie - Very true, and the media shouldn't get a pass. As I wrote a few days back, they may be waking up.
It doesn't matter what happens, BO is not going to change his course. He will never admit he was wrong even if he destroys our country (intentionally or not). He will do & say everything to prove that he was right and put any spin on it that he can. He made Spring show up to start construction projects back up ya know! Can we have a Mulligan, PLEASE!!!!!
@Lilly - I agree, we need a "do-over"!
Kevin, you get a chance to hear Daniel Hannan's speech to Gordon Brown?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94lW6Y4tBXs
It's an amazing 3 minutes.
Lets play some MAD[at]LIBS at replace all the UK references / statistics with American ones and see if it fits!
AMERICAN VERSION:
Mr. President, I see you’ve already mastered the essential craft of the populist politician, namely the ability to say one thing in this press conference and a very different thing to your home lobbyists. You’ve spoken here about free trade, and amen to that. Who would have guessed, listening to you just now, that you were the supporter of the phrase ‘Buy American’ and that you have subsidised, where you have not nationalised outright, swathes of our economy, including the car industry and many of the banks? Perhaps you would have more moral authority in this house if your actions matched your words? Perhaps you would have more legitimacy in the councils of the world if the United States were not going into this recession in the worst condition of any G20 country?
The truth, Mr. President, is that you have run out of our money. The country as a whole is now in negative equity. Every American child is born owing around $38,000. Servicing the interest on that debt is going to cost more than educating the child. Now, once again today you try to spread the blame around; you spoke about an international recession, international crisis. You claim you “inherited” this. Well, it is true that we are all sailing together into the squalls. But not every vessel in the convoy is in the same dilapidated condition. Other ships used the good years to caulk their hulls and clear their rigging; in other words – to pay off debt. But you used the good years to raise borrowing yet further. As a consequence, under your captaincy, our hull is pressed deep into the water line under the accumulated weight of your debt We are now running a deficit that EXCEEDS THE ENTIRE COMBINED WORLD’S GDP, an absolutely unbelievable figure. More than any country; countries where the IMF have already been called in. Now, it’s not ONLY that you’re not apologising; like everyone else I have long accepted that you’re pathologically incapable of accepting responsibility for these things. It’s that you’re carrying on, wilfully worsening our situation, wantonly spending what little we have left. This year - in the last months – six hundred thousand private sector jobs have been lost and yet you created thirty-five thousand public sector jobs.
Mr. President, you cannot carry on for ever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecedented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt. And when you repeat, in that wooden and perfunctory way, that our situation is better than others, that the spending budget is “inseparable” from economic growth, I have to tell you that you sound like a Brezhnev-era apparatchik giving the party line. You know, and we know, and you know that we know that it’s nonsense! Everyone knows that America is in more debt than any other country as we go into these hard times. The IMF has said so; the European Commission has said so; China KNOWS so, the markets have said so – which is why our currency has devalued by over sixty percent. And soon the voters too will get their chance to say so. They can see what the markets have already seen: that you are the devalued President of a devalued government.
(End)
Why are our politicians to scared to say to our leaders what our cousins across the pond have?
I have two things to say:
1)President BO could have his own TV show in a heartbeat. He could call it "The Biggest Loser."
2) I want neither to embarass you or anger you with this remark. In 1964 I marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in St. Augustine. I got a real feel for what he stood for and his integrity and honesty.
In my mind, you personify everything good in his subsequent "I Have a Dream" speech.
Thank you for your blog...it is really an inspiration to me.
Why do so many Dems believe that the solution to overspending is more spending? It's like a bad gambling habit ("I'll hit the big one next hand!").
Does he even know what he was talking about? It was like a second grader reading his/her homework in front of the class.
BTW, Nice blog, Kevin
I wonder if this man has stepped out of Washington lately. I was a teacher that was laid off last June. I'm subbing right now, but next year it's going to be worse because contary to the BS BO is pushing, teachers are still getting laid off even after spending what God Almighty is seeing as an obscene amount of money. Getting Substitute work is hard enough right now, what's it's going to be like next year were in the district with 1200 teachers and 160 subs, they're laying off another 85 teachers?
BO, you haven't saved a thing. Not one job, not even one cent in equity. We're beyond bankrupt now. You're too much like my ex-wife. You can't print the money fast enough beyond what you can spend. Be a man for once. Oh, I forgot, man and liberal are oxymorons.
Note to Joe. I think you're right about MLK. I also think he would had been so disappointed or down right disgusted with this president because he represents everything he was against. He's turned his dream into a perverted, total and complete nightmare.
@Oppo - Good comment, and I will review the video.
@Joe, I appreciate the compliment! Thank you so much!
Seabee - Thanks for the visit, and the kudos! Visit often!
madmath1 - Obama doesn't live in the "real world", so it doesn't matter where he is...lunacy is lunacy!

I tuned in for about 3 minutes and then ran for the porcelin bowl and hurled.

Is it because he only knows how to campaign?
Obamessiah
Campaign, and staple flyers on telephone poles in Chicago.
So, to move away from the era of borrow and spend, he spends the largest amount in the history of the world AND borrows even MORE so he can SPEND it later... and calls this 'saving and investing'?
The guy can flat out lie in your face with no conscience at all. In that respect, he's remarkable guy.. zero conscience, zippo guilt, nada. lie lie lie lie lie... tell you dog poop is meatloaf and then smile while you take a bite, that's Ogabe.
beyond.. belief...
Big Dave
As usual, you are right on. But I was wondering about the monkey picture on this post. So, now that you put that there, does that make you racist? Or is that reserved for whites only?
I love this blog! I don't know how I found it, I think I googled something to find an article to support one of my own rants.
I missed it cause I can't even stomach owning a functioning TV. Too bad for me.
@Parisienne Farmgirl - Je parle francaise. Parlons abientot, s'il vous plait. J'ai besoin de practiquer ma francaise bien sur!
@BigDave - Yes, we lack the POWER to be racist, you are right. That was preached to me. Then I remembered...we always had electricity, except when the bill was late. So we had POWER almost all the time!
why can't we all just look at California and New Orleans after Katrina and see what liberalism does to society. and yet we walk down the same path for our country.
Obama doesn't have a clue. He is a lost little kids who wanted to play president and once he got in crapped himself that he actually had to work and not just give speeches.
As a voter for Bush, I tend not to criticize Obama for his poor speech talents, but I hate that those who criticized Bush for his poor speaking talents are now silent.
Michael, I discuss Obama's speaking because he is supposed to be so eloquent, and Bush was the bungling idiot. I find it ironic that Bush gives a better speech. Obama can't speak with passion, and is afraid to make mistake, which he would without his teleprompter. His speeches won't get any better, since he will constantly change his core, thus never developing one for sure.
ObamaBots won't speak up until they are ready to jettison him, then they will all be saying, 'you know I knew Obama wasn't right for America, which is why I didn't support him." Note they won't say they didn't VOTE for him, they will say they didn't "support" him.
Liberal freaks!

Oh no, I just found out first bitch or as u know her Michelle O is coming here to California to make a commencement speech. She will do her third rich to all the dummied down graduates of Bill Ayers teaching strategies.
You know I really wanted to watch the speech, oops I mean news conference, what was it about again?,... tonight because I don't want to be an ignorant sob, but I just couldn't bring myself to turn it on. We've got almost 4 more years of this!
Thanks for the blog Kevin, it's pretty much the first place I came after I knew it was over.
John P - This was a retread article, posted weeks ago, but it just proves that Obama says nothing new!
