Putting his energy into yet another project, Obama is now shifting focus from his failed economic policies, by tinkering with military affairs in Afghanistan. This is truly the definition of turning energy into solid waste.
Given his broad background in global affairs, compounded with his strong background in military strategy, how could Obama not avoid weighing in on this subject?
According to Obama, the US is not winning the war in Afghanistan, so it is time for him to change tactics. And considering how well his idea of not backing the surge would have worked in Iraq, why not give Afghanistan a stab…in the back?
Straight out of the Obama playbook, "Quote a Deceased Real Republican Leader, Then Try to Look Presidential", he wants to try to win over Sunni moderates. Obama warns us, however in this statement to the NY Times,
Nevertheless who can argue with a guy who has handled things so well in his first 50 days? Look at all that has been accomplished.
- Torpedoing of the American economy
- Re-institution of infanticide
- Polarization of America along racial lines
- Release of terrorist enemies of America
- Demoralizing the military
- Demoralizing of productive Americans
Though I knew Obama was not that bright, it's the depth of Obama's lack of knowledge in business, finance, and economics literally has had me scratching my head.
Here's the wrap:
Obama will address the war in Afghanistan much like he addressed the health care situation.
At the summit, he will break them into smaller groups, where they will participate in breakout sessions. They will have an hour to talk amongst themselves. At the end of the hour, they will reconvene with Obama, where he will ask them what they were able to accomplish. He won't use any of their suggestions, but he enjoys making them feel like they are part of the solution. The ultimate solution will be that Obama will offer no solution.
That's my rant!

Spot on, as usual.
As I said to some fellow conservatives, it is a sad day to say "I told you so" even though we did. I had dealings with Obama before the election and knew he was a duplicitous disaster. But being out here on the borders of soon-to-be Taliban-land, it is frightening how duplicitous and how disastrous he is.
Dr. Richard Benkin from the front lines in South Asia
"He will gather all the Sunni leaders for a summit with our military and our soon-to-be civilian national security force."
As soon as I read that, I laughed and saw what was coming! Thanks Kevin for the morning chuckle. Lets just hope that the military WILL have a say is some of this.
my word verf = endlib LOL
@DrBenkin - First you are a true patriot, and for those of you who aren't aware of his work, you need to check him out! He is truly on the front line!!
Next, I couldn't agree more with you on Obama, and "I told you so". Too bad we are not closer to the election, as he and the Congress would be overhauled. We need to keep the pressure up, so they "stay the course", and we will easily pick up seats!
@Lilly - endlib is great! And yes, let's "study" the problem, and not actually "deal with" the problem!

good blog as usual - I wish Kevin could school BO. I cannot call him Pres - BO does it for the next 4 years
It's funny, our hospital will do the same thing. Pick nurses, stick them in groups, tell them do you want this or that. Neither are good choices but you only get to pick between these 2. They then will go back and tell the rest of us it was voted on by our peers. Only the new nurses will agree to be on these committee's anymore, the rest of us know what it really is.
Obama is running, or ruining our country the same way.
@Julie - So true. Give two stupid choices, so you feel like you were part of the decision. And you make a good scapegoat!
Rule number 2 of tinkering - remember how it came apart, so you can put it together correctly after you break it really good the first time.
@Cary - Great point!
About an hour ago I commented on another blog: President BO's war on achievement (see your earlier posts), plus President BO's war on business, equals President BO's war on the economy.
You are so right on.
@Joe - Thanks for the comment, and the validation, Joe! I call it War on Achievement, code name Project Insanity

Obama's "failed economic policies" ? After 100 days ? And you have nothing to say about the Bush's years of course ! That was going allright ! Obama destroied the economy in 100 days !
Pathetic.
itstodd
but it is bad when bush did it...
The big "O" said (not an exact quote)
"I wish I had only a minor recession, didn't have to worry about health care, didn't have to worry about energy, didn't have to worry about Iraq, didn't have to worry about Afghanistan, but I don't have that luxury"
So he's going to sacrifice Afghanistan for energy reform and health care....
@biz - Yes, Obama will not waste a moment to remind us that he has been burdened with more than any president in history, blah blah blah
I am not sure if you are aware of the latest 'sleight of hand' Obama just pulled in Afghanistan. Pulled a brigade from deploying to Iraq to deploy to Afghanistan (altogether a whole nuther issue) with much fanfare and then under the radar pulled another brigade, on very short notice to replace the pulled brigade, to deploy to Iraq.

I have always believed that Obama would pull a Clinton with Afghanistan. Deploy troops to Afghanistan and yank them out in defeat ala Somalia.
Toni, hadn't heard that, so thanks for the info.
