Ted Kennedy - The Real Story

If you like my musings, please consider investing in my book, The BIG Black Lie. It's getting rave reviews, and I guarantee you will like it!

I don’t want to be completely heartless, as I do have sympathy for those who will miss Teddy Kennedy. I’m just not one of those people. For me Teddy Kennedy was just another spoiled, alcoholic, liberal fat cat, who got away with murder.

Today however, the news will report that a great man died. They will say how he was a wonderful legislator, and that he “reached across the aisle” in a bi-partisan effort to help all Americans. You will hear things like dedicated father, family member, friend, patriot, American, and a host of other platitudes that Kennedy frankly doesn’t deserve.

Kennedy was good at one thing: Being a Kennedy! Actually, he was just ok at that.

Teddy Kennedy was a relic of a bygone era—an icon who never should have been an icon. When you really analyze what Kennedy accomplished in his life and career, the answer is nothing...except being a Kennedy. In truth, Kennedy’s career was really about one quintessential thing: Keeping Democrats in power—by whatever means necessary. Read more here...

One of the things that keeps being mentioned is that he was a Senator for 50 years.

50 years! That means he first got elected to office when he was 27!

@Anon - Like I said, Kennedy did nothing except what he felt could help Democrats.

Takin about Karm, lets talk a bit about Teddy Kennedy! I can't understand why you Yanks idealize this coward so much.
Kennedy lived a life of extreme privileged due to bootlegging by his Hitler appeasing old man, Joe. The old man turned his ill gotten gains into legitimate investments, just like any smart hood would do. The whole family was set from then on. Now, with a gene pool that's as watered down as old Joe's scotch, maybe the media manufactured Camelot BS FINALLY comes to an end.

By the way, did the American's care at all about torture when Mary Jo was tortured waiting to die in that car?
She had enough air for about 40 minutes. Do we know if she was conscious? How dare these people who laud Kennedy forget about the torture he put her through.

You American blokes should know better than to make this coward and liar into a Saint!
As if Chappaquiddick were the only mistake he made!
Did you Yanks know that there was a request made by U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy to Soviet Premier Yuri Andropov offering his “assistance” in helping to prevent President Ronald Reagan from putting nukes into Europe? Yes, a politician actively working against a sitting president in the area of foreign policy.
"Lion of the Senate” my azz,but more like the Weasel of the Senate.

He was not a perfect person is a little bit of an understatement. I'm not a perfect, but I have never taken part in a rape, killed a woman, cheated my way out of Harvard - twice and many more indiscretions. Yes he did good things, but helping poor people and lowering the voting age does not make you a good person. He should not be idolized. Had he been anyone but a Kennedy, he would be considered trash; which he is and a felon. And I believe everyone is well informed, they are just showing who Ted Kennedy really was.

@ The Lone Voice & Lacy - I like both of your takes on this. Nice Job!

It's nice to find a blog where good people are talking common sense. Maybe I'm not losing my mind after all.
