Being from a poor family, taxes were not much of a problem as my grandparents always seemed to get a little something back. That's what happens when your combined income is little more than $15,000 a year.
But they raised their little rugrat in the capitalist tradition, so I grew up to become moderately successful, at least in the eyes of the government. So when I owned my own company I was rudely introduced to the tax system, learning quickly that ambition in America is indeed rewarded…with high taxes.
Yes, America is indeed the land of opportunity, if you want the opportunity to pay outrageous taxes to help support illegal aliens, terrorists (pardon me..."man-made disasterists", and better yet…other lazy Americans.) How I long for the good old days when Uncle Sam lived within his income and without most of mine….ahhh. It has almost reached the point in America where, if you take a day off, you fall behind in your income-tax payments.
So what's involved in our tax system?
First, the code is around 1.3M words and 75,000 pages, I believe. Do you honestly believe that anybody has read and understands it? There is a saying that "…income tax forms have been simplified…beyond all understanding." Am I the only conspiracy theorist who believes this is intentional?
But surely our congressmen know the code, right? Considering that Congress didn't read the1300 page multi-trillion dollar budget document, what would make anybody believe they would read the document that funds the budget? "What is ya…ignant?"
Something tells me they will just take their own word for it, that they have sufficiently written a document to fleece the taxpayers. And if they missed something, they do have the IRS on their side. It is better to give, than to deceive.
Through outright theft, politicians have solved the problem of getting people to pay taxes they can't afford for services they don't need. Things like transsexual beauty pageants and swine manure management in Iowa. Ironic. A friend and I were just talking both these topics just yesterday. Sometimes politicians amaze me with their ability to "get inside my head!"
Every April 15, American taxpaying citizens, also known as right-wing extremists and "man-caused disasterists" have a rendezvous with debt. It's because politicians find it a lot easier to trim the taxpayers than to trim budgets. April 16 remnants: A harp sits where a piano used to.
Here's the wrap:
I have a sure-fire way to make money: Invest in taxes. They always go up! And in Obama's War on Achievement, he is coming after those of us too stupid to become deadbeats. Our taxes will go up. It's that simple.
Raising taxes on producers makes about as much sense as fanning a fire to cool its heat. But since when did this administration decide to rely on logic in decision-making. As I see it, we are allowing crackheads to steal our money, but secretly hoping they will seek rehab and not more crack. Any bets on the outcome?
So I say to my fellow right-wing extremist, infidels, "man-made disasterists", formerly known as citizens of these formerly great United States, "I regret that I have but one income to give to my country."
That's my rant!

Kevin,
Remember the famous "1040 Very EZ" tax form? Two lines--
1) How much did you make?
2) send it in.
Big Dave
@BigDave - All too well, my friend!

Obama. Because EVERYBODY deserves some of what you've worked hard for.

Success is punished... how stupid is that?
@Berlin Deluxxe - Such is the War on Achievement for ObamaNation.

Several of my friends are going to the party in Charleston, SC. Jim Demint is speaking.
Fanning a fire to cool it's heat. LOL.
And my friends you do not want a run in with the SS oh I mean the IRS. Geithner makes a "mistake" gets forgiven and no penalties from 4 years ago. I make a mistake I get a bill with penalties and daily interest from 2 years ago. No forgiveness for me and the SS does not care about your employment status. PAY YOUR TAXES OR ELSE!
Sir RonB
Since I've retired, I've been truly amazed at how much tax I have to pay on a piddly little retirement and my piddly Social Security check. Plus just recently, the sales tax has risen to 9.3% in the county I live in. Yet our roads are terrible, schools overcrowded, it goes on & on. Where's that money going?
@Sir RonB - Glad to make YOU laugh bro, as you have been cracking me up!
@Linda - They will get your money, no matter how little of it you have.
Quick correction as to the length of the tax code:
It's a bit longer than 1.3 million words.
To put it in comparison, there are 774,746 words in the entire Bible.
It seems that the estimate going around now is that there are 3.7 million words for the (simple) 60,000 page version.
If 10% tithe of everything you made in a year was enough for god, how does government justify taxing people in every which way to sum up to absurd percentages of income?
That was brilliantly written, LOVE it !! Taxes....hhhmpppf. Hope everyone has a bit of tea today and puts an immediate end to this insanity !
@Oppo - That's a lot of words either way!
@Sunny Smile - You just WANT me, and rightfully so!

make sure you confront any morons and tell em to put a sock in it. don't want a couple of chumps yelling "burn the books" presented by the media to represent the protest.
/you already know how this is going to look on the evening news
I'm headed off to my local Tea party in about an hour. I'm looking forward to going, but have a bit of apprehension. This IS L.A., after all, and I bet there will be plenty of moonbats flying around.
Hi Kevin
I just put 24 pictures of the Syracuse Tea Party on my blog. Take a look.
Here's the http

@drjim - Don't sweat ACORN and that ilk. There will be many more of US than them!
@Necromancer - Will look when I am back from ours. I have to prep for the event...
Ah how I wish I could've gone to the Boston Tea party today. *sigh* Sadly I have to work and while I can take the occasional moment to check the web - I've been working like mad.
This is good until I remember that Obama wants everything I earn. Even if I work until midnight and I'm back at it the next morning... all to keep our little business in business.
Guess I work too hard - should chuck it all and apply for welfare. Then I could take a vacation and spend all day texting on my cell phone.
@Teresa - You cracked me up! "...spend all day texting on my cell phone." Too funny!
Unfortunately this right-wing extremist and "man-caused disasterist" was stuck with classes, and the more worthy volunteering at the local MRDD, today.
I wonder if I can add to my right-wing extremist credentials if I tell the government I'm reading the Eddas. Gonna shoot for the title of Raging Ragnarok Berserker.
I went to the tea party here in Columbia, SC at the state capital. It was GREAT! Jim DeMint spoke, and then my Gov. Sanford.
I was surrounded by other American-loving, anti-big gov.,and anti-socialist like me. I had wonderful conversations with various people, and they seemed just as pissed as I am, hence the large gathering.
I was a black women surrounded by a sea of white people, and got two comments about me being the minority in the crowd. I replied that there are many in my race who think the same way I do, but are afraid of being looked upon as a traitor, so they keep quite. One women said, "Bless your heart"! I said, I'm an American too, who believes in the consititution, and will fight for the rights it gives me".
Now, I am waiting for the opportunity to set up a booth to distribute info. on what the republicans have done for blacks in the past as compared to the democrats. LOL
Just got back home from the one I went to and it was great! NO moonbats, and lots of media were there. The local newspaper, FOX, and even the BBC!
I didn't take my good camera, so I'll try and post some iPhone photos later today.
Kevin, having working for a tax preparer for 13 years previously, I can tell you how big those tax laws are. There are about 14 volumes with each volume 4 to 5 inches thick with no fewer than 2,000 pages each and they're constantly changing. That's over 280,000 pages. Many contradict each other, and in no logical order. When I was working for this tax preparer, there was no sentance that put the fear of a divine retribution was that I find out what a particular tax law stated on a particular issue. Since I was a part time worker, it seemed crazy for this to be part of my responsibilities since searching through those things was a lifetime task. Fortunately, they had them online and was able to let the computer explode searching through the records before it died of obsoleteness. I don't know the number of words, but like most politicans that wrote them, they are far too many. Just working with the payroll laws was enough exercise in flirting with the dark side of insanity to keep the clients from getting into legal, financial and judicial hell. I've seen the tax codes from the Philippines and for a 3rd world country, at least I can understand theirs. Ours, are just too complicated.
As for do I think it's intentional, well, this thing is such a mess and so intertwined with the left hand only not know what the right hand is doing, but the left foot, right toes, shoulders, knees and head as well. I think the tax codes is used to manipulate us to behave in certain ways, but it's built up for so long without revision for outdated and obsurd ones that it's basically an intentional accident that it is what it is. If that sounds like double speak and confusing, well, remember who wrote these laws and why. All I can say about it is what the few that stayed in the library in the movie the Day After Tommorrow trying to determine which books should be saved and which should be burned for warmth and they found the 14 section of the IRS tax codes. They decided to burn them and ended their search for the day.
All I can add is beware. If BO has his way, he'll simplified them really quick. Give the Government all your money and let him decided how much each citizen is entitled to live on.
The tea party in our town was very well attended and included all age groups. Even though Homeland security was warned to be on the look out for dangerous right wing extremists and Ron Paul supporters not a single arrest of patriotic citizens giving up their lunch hours to peacefully protest were arrested. Much to the White houses dismay. The group was rightfully angry, but intelligent and informed. May my heart swell to hear it on the news. Gee, next year this will be in May, right. Or June, July or never.....
@Ranba - funny stuff, Ranba!
@Rose-Bud - Our event in STL was phenomenal. Between 7000-9000, I'd guess. And if I must say, I ROCKED! I will try to post videos, when I get them.
@madmath1 - I know my friend, nobody could know that code, and they will just change it next year!
@Julie - Our event in St Louis was phenomenal. I can't tell you how many people thought I did a fantastic job, and the other speakers were GREAT!

Good articles Kevin. And a few good laughs come with it. Keep it going- Great job.

It was GREAT seeing you guys! We will get together soon! Thanks for the compliments on the blog!
I think the banks are the ones getting away with robbery this year. Please learn how they are stealing Frequent Flyer miles from customers, How you are labeled a toxic asset if you pay your bills on time and have a good credit score but don't make a lot of money, and learn about Chase Bank.
Lets pick a cause that both Republicans and Democrats can back, that is how to heel US. We should all be focused in on the banks right now.

There were three tea parties n our area, two at parks, which were packed out, and one along the main highway.
The media reported "hundreds" in attendance at that one, even though it was seven or eight blocks long with people stacked twelve or thirteen deep all along the route...holding signs, singing, etc.
@Joe - We were packed, and it was a BLAST!
kevin great articles glad to see a lot of people come together. The government not going to be happy until it get everything we have.
This country need to start removing the people in congress
@donnieir - Thanks for the comment, and I agree!

I spent two hours with a sign in my hand on a very busy street. Lots of support from the passing traffic, I just don't understand where all these liberals come from?

I'm a little freaked out by the masked dudes...
Great time yesterday and to everyone who organized it and I look forward to the next one!
"Don't spread my wealth, Spread My Work Ethic!"
Well played, sir. Well played.
Too bad real life pwned me so that I couldn't attend, but this will be linked around.
Take care, and keep fighting the good fight.
@Eddiebear - I will keep fighting, and hopefully you can make it soon!
Thanks for the laughs! Eddiebear got me here. This is funny stuff. Kudos! Keep it up.
@Cathy - Glad you came, and visit often!

T-Town Tax Day Tea Party at International Park
Interesting...I didn't see flames by Leftists here, even though the CNN crowd, the Daily Kooks and the Puffington Boast were going after the defenseless. That's it! You know how to fight back! And besides, there are Obummer supporter's with buyer's remorse, who know we're right.
Lefties know better than to bring their stupid ideas in here! They send a scout every now and then. We let them live, but they go back to the troop as if it's all good. But none return...
Better late than never, I guess.
Did someone say The FairTax? Initially, the fairtax seems to have too many loopholes, unfairness, but it takes awhile to get a handle on it. I read about it - read the proposal, then it took about a year and I kept thinking it should work but I didn;t know how to answer my own question and others questions - really criticisms, then I read Fairtax:The Truth Answering the Critics by Boortz & Linder
I'm so disappointed that everyone in congress isn't made to read this bill, because by now, they would know that this would solve so many issues. That's assuming that they want to really solve problems instead of looking for power.
Is it indicative that there's mainly Repub that are co-sponsoring the bill? That's too bad, because in the end it would mean such a strong USA that Obama could implement all the plans he wants.. Oh well
I do spend too much time on the 'net.
If you haven't read the book, I'd gladly send you mine.
