Obama Takes Revenge on Rednecks!

Is Obama retaliating for what the mainstream media referred to as Bush's lack of response on Katrina, by disregarding the Rednecks from the South throughout the Midwest?

Many states, particularly Kentucky are in the midst of a devastating ice storm.  Yet there is very little media coverage about what is happening, and FEMA has been essentially a no show. I guess this is what they get for voting RED.

Here's what Yahoo News reports:

"Local officials were growing angry with what they said was a lack of help from the state and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In Grayson County, about 80 miles southwest of Louisville, Emergency Management Director Randell Smith said the 25 National Guardsmen who have responded have no chain saws to clear fallen trees."

Unlike Katrina, the most devastating natural disaster to hit the US, and one where the people of New Orleans had ample time to make arrangements to move, this ice storm left little time for response for residents impacted.

So 42 people have died...so far.  And 1.3M people are without power, yet again no outcry from the media.  I guess because there aren't enough 'victims of choice', so the media has chosen to be relatively silent on coverage…oh, and on Obama's lack of adequate response?

FEMA deals with ice storms all the time, so one would think that the government is more than ready for such disasters. As bad as this storm is, it is not "the most devastating ice storm ever to hit the US". I would think there is a playbook available for Obama to read in order to help these people? Worst case he could google the info on how to respond, then IM or text somebody in the Fed, who could email somebody, who could eventually find a competent Conservative or two to go help these people?

"Meanwhile, the death toll was rising: Since the storm began Monday, the weather is suspected in at least 11 deaths in Kentucky, nine more in Arkansas, six each in Texas and Missouri, three in Virginia, two each in Oklahoma, Indiana and West Virginia and one in Ohio, with most of them blamed on hypothermia, traffic accidents and carbon monoxide poisoning from generators."

But while people in the Midwest were freezing to death, Obama was at a political gathering at the Alfalfa Club, roasting Rahm Emanuel.

I can't say that this surprises me. Obama is not going to miss a photo op, or chance for a sound bite to mention "change" and "hope". Lucky for him the digital conversion hasn't occurred so he be assured that all of America heard the sound bites from the party. Perhaps the fact that Americans are freezing to death will eventually work its way up to his Blackberry screen soon.

Here's the wrap:

When the lights went out during Obama's multi-million dollars lobbyist funded vacation in Hawaii, they provided three backup generators for him within hours. FEMA can't seem to get generators to hospitals, nursing homes, and residents who are fighting for their lives, and they have had the better part of a week.

Meanwhile Obama is turning up the heat in the White House, warm and cozy around 76 degrees. I hear he likes it warm and toasty "up in there".

So like people said of Bush during Katrina, the worst natural disaster to hit the US in history...I'm sure Obama hates Rednecks.

That's my rant!

Hey Kevin,
First, lets get the terms correct. From my past and present experience, a person from those states you mentioned center around the Appalacian Mountians (did I spell that right?) , and are referred to as , excuse me, 'Hillbillys'. A 'Redneck' is a person who has a redneck from riding horses, tractors or doing some outdoor activity where the sun burns on their neck all year long, as in the southern states.
Therefore, Pres. Obama is ignoring the Hillbllys affected by the ice storms, just like I predict he will ignore the Rednecks in the South when the tornados and hurricanes wreck the land. These two group of people did not, and will not buy into his craziness, thus they have to pay the price. Remember, the communist killed millions with thier direct, and indirect indifference to the needs of the people, and I predict Pres. Obama will attempt to do the same, unless he is stopped. LOL

Rosemary - Literary "play on words", in that Obama is abandoning the RED states. Probably missed the point on this one, but the main point is FEMA blew it, and there is no outcry like Katrina.

I have been thinking about this all week-end... WHERE was he????
He is so mean!
Those poor suffering people are suffering. I thought he cared!

Right on the Mark!

@Rose-Bud, my previous comment was at you! Sorry Rosemary!

@Rosemary - Obama is pathetic, and if this were Bush, the MSM would be all over him!

This story is no more newsworthy than those rich people on the coast of Texas who lost their homes in the hurricane last year.Forgive me for forgetting the names of the towns, it hasn't been drilled into my head.
The media only covers things that support their agenda. Bush killing black people is bad. Obama's disinterest in the snowstorm is boring. They also won't mention how much the rest of the world is going to frown upon Obama's temperature settings.

At least Clinton would say he felt their pain.

Having lived in Oklahoma for the past 12 years (and hopefully returning in the fall of this year) I find Obama's behavior despicable. He is most definitely showing his "true colors/loyalties" with his indifference in these ice storms as well as his recent dissing of our most honored military vets during the inauguration ball.

I truly hope that we "out" this "impostor" soon and that we can remedy this radical turn left he has made.

Kevin you once again you have proven that you have your finger squarely on the pulse of liberal hypocrisy. Obama has nothing to fear from the MSM, they will keep him safely above the fray.

I'd like to know where all the media hype is on this disaster? No one is out complaining about where FEMA is but it was ok to blame Bush for the disaster in LA. Is the MSM afraid of doing their jobs which might make the great one look inept for this job? Yes, of course...the tingle running down their legs evidently destroyed their brains. The new motto in the white house is do only for the blue states as the other 50 million people that didn't vote for him get forgotten...

I shouldn't say this, and I have all the empathy in the world for the patriots in the south who have to suffer, but in all honesty, they may be experiencing good fortune that the feds haven't shown up. I don't think those in the north know how much they rely on the south. I can just picture cotton and wheat fields blanketing the scenery in Main, in Michigan, in Massachussettes. Also, I'm not sure how much oil production occurs up there as well. The south can be totally and completely self-sufficient if it chooses to do so because rednecks GET IT DONE!

A great commentary. Thanks for posting.

When Iowa and North Dakota among other states had all that flooding last year, 100's of people lost everything. You barely heard one word about it. We had no riots, no mass collections and celebrities giving concerts to raise money, no food collections or rescuing of pets. It was neighbors helping neighbor and the mayor in one town was out there filling sand bags not on the radio shooting his mouth off.

It is a double standard. Same with all the people in the ice storm. We should be storming FEMA with emails demanding they help. In fact, guess I'll do that now.

Clay said...

I jokingly blogged about this as the storm moved across the United States, but I had no clue my prophecy was going to be fulfilled. You provide an interesting perspective on this.Obama has been living like a fat cat as these people suffer. It's amazing to watch the double standard. Thanks for giving the argument real credibility.

The Black Sphere said...

@Clay - Thanks for scooping it. I just saw an article about the ice storm, and 42 people dying, as Obama was at a dinner. I thought, this is typical of the hypocrisy of Dems, and decided to expose it.

Thanks to you, however for being in advance of the situation.

I've read Obama's two books and if anyone had, this would be absolutely no surprise. Obama does hate white people and this is a demonstration of his hatred. This is why he didn't attend toots funeral. The fact the media won't call him on it should be no suprise either. They didn't report on Bush, and we know how much the LSM (Lame Stream Media) loved him, so why on God's green earth would they report on Obama's apathy towards whites and this is definately racial. If Detroit had been hit like these states have, FEMA would had been there last week.

Expect more of the same for the next 4 to 8 years folks. America is going to feel the pain now.

Rosemary, Hi, right back atcha! I've always liked your blog name, and sometimes confuse your comments with my own because I see we think so much alike. I hypenate my Rose from my Bud to stand apart from another Rosebud, I've seen on other sights, otherwise I'm just old RB.

Hang on a minute...

Obama is trying to give money to Southern & Midwestern states in his stimulus package. Republican Governors want it because their states are going broke, but the Republican politicians in Washington D.C. are trying to block money from getting to the states because they want tax cuts for corporations instead.

Obama wants a "Buy American" provision so the money can only be used to keep American factories open and save jobs, but the Republicans are screaming that we shouldn't buy American because they want the money to go to foreign businesses.

Obama wants to let FEMA use closed military bases in the South & Midwest to establish new disaster relief centers to provide food, clothing, shelter and medical services in the event of another major disaster (Hurricane, Flood, Tornado, etc). The conspiracy nuts are trying to block this by saying these are "Nazi detention camps".

Obama wants to lower taxes on lower and middle income people, but the Republicans say only tax cuts for the rich will work.

Obama is actually doing quite a lot to HELP people in the South & Midwest, but the anti-Obama folks are blocking his efforts at every turn. You guys are cutting off your nose to spite your own face.

Wouldn't it be great if some of this stimulus money could be spent on infrastructure. Putting the power lines underground in these places that are prone to long power outages due to weather. That might create one or two jobs.

@sheila---who in the heck are you listening to? Every one of your points are wrong. Obama has filled the white house with tax cheaters who don't pay their taxes unless they get appointed to a government position and some are in the government positions already...do you want a partial list?...Rangel, Dodd, Frank, Guithner, and next Daschle...

"Obama is actually doing quite a lot to HELP people in the South & Midwest, but the anti-Obama folks are blocking his efforts at every turn. You guys are cutting off your nose to spite your own face."

You call people that don't agree with the stimulus package "anti-Obama folks"...that is a biased statement in itself.

What is Obama doing for the people in the South and Midwest? Name something.

Were you ever employed by a poor person?...the corporations employ several hundreds of thousands of people......You sound like it's a crime to be rich in this country...bad, bad rich corporations that pay almost all of the income tax.

Your arguments are pure folly, imagined and clearly influenced by the biased MSM.

Yeah, I am afraid, that we will not be hearing from the liberals in Chicago or Wisconsin crying out in pain for these folks. I am thinking that they are too consumed thinking about how cool their newly elected president sounded on the tv last night, and wondering what his first daughters are wearing, if they should run out and buy it for their kids too. You know how cool it is to be hip. The dems have a card that says everything they think about the next 4 years is optional. Their biggest worry is, what will Oprah tell them about The One that they have not already memorized from his and the first ladies books! Oh yeah, that is right, there are people freezing to death. Or are they people? Maybe they are all racist, so we should let them freeze to death. That'll teach em! Next time all of those poor whites will be down in NO rebuilding! Ugghhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Pay attention. You should not be rewarded with that sweet, sweet federal cash because you have run your state into the ground, regardless of what letter you put behind your name. Corporations do not pay taxes, they merely collect them and pass them on as a cost of doing business. Reducing or eliminating "corporate income taxes" would do more to stimulate the economy than just giving out gobs of money.

"Obama wants a "Buy American" provision so the money can only be used to keep American factories open and save jobs, but the Republicans are screaming that we shouldn't buy American because they want the money to go to foreign businesses."

Because protectionism worked so well for us in the 30's...

"Obama wants to let FEMA use closed military bases in the South & Midwest to establish new disaster relief centers to provide food, clothing, shelter and medical services in the event of another major disaster (Hurricane, Flood, Tornado, etc). Most of the closed bases no longer belong to the Fed gov, so they no longer have a say what happens to them. See "NAS Cecil Field" for an example. Also, which side of the political spectrum do the conspiracy nuts belong on? Hint: anyone that compares our troops to Nazis are more than likely to be hard leftists.

"Obama wants to lower taxes on lower and middle income people, but the Republicans say only tax cuts for the rich will work."

Suuuuure he does. I got a tax break from the "Bush" tax cuts, and they have been the target of repeal ever since they got passed. Pull on the other one, it's got bells. (The evil hated rich pay more than half the taxes, and the lower income levels pay little to no tax at all. Tax breaks go to those who actually pay taxes, otherwise it's just wealth redistribution by another name.)

"Obama is actually doing quite a lot to HELP people in the South & Midwest, but the anti-Obama folks are blocking his efforts at every turn."

That must be what's happened to my Skittles crapping unicorn! The anti-Obama folks blocked the delivery!

I know. I shouldn't feed the trolls.

"Redneck" is universal. Plenty of them here in New York. And yet, the first image that comes to mind is a Southerner (a victim of the War of Northern Aggression). Close behind (and possibly blended) is the image of a hillbilly. To be politically correct, an Appalachian American.

But I've noticed that "redneck" is a dirty word. Not just an insult, but intended with the deepest of slurs. Rednecks don't like Obummer. Rednecks are BAD PEOPLE, and must be reminded that they are pariahs.

Too bad that guns, Bibles, patriotism, family values and the like that are found in red states are also disparaged by Libtards. I'm with Charlie Daniels: What this world needs is a few more rednecks. http://tinyurl.com/bxwnld

But those of us who believe in traditional values and get called "redneck" have to stick together, because The Messiahdent will NOT be there for us. Another bit of change you can believe in.

The Black Sphere said...

Stormbringer - I couldn't agree more, which is why I used Rednecks in the titles, and not Whites. Great comment!

Just as in Katrina, I ask the question, "where is the local and state governments?" Also, what happened to people taking care of themselves? Have we become so socialized that we have forgotten how to servive? FEMA was established to provide support when the local and state agencies become overtaxed. FEMA is NOT a first responder orginization. When Ivan tore through Northwest Florida, there was no outcry for FEMA. There was no national publicity about how the federal government hated Floridians. Why? Because the local and state governments stepped up. The first responders, in their respective areas, provided for the well being of the community. People took care of themselves. Neighbors helped each other. People rolled up their sleeves and went to work. They did not sit on their hands and cry.

People have forgotten that we do not live in a socialistic government. It is a republic. "...and to the republic for which it stands..." The apathy and laziness that has become this country will be its demise. We as a country need to roll up our sleeves and start taking care of ourselves, again. Stop looking for the government, or someone else, to do it for us. "...ask not what you country can do for you..." And most of all, stop bitching!

Too funny!

The term Redneck comes from the state of West Virginia in the early 1900s. When non-Union mine workers marched with Union Mine workers, they wore a red scarf around their neck.

Coal miners are Hard Working folk.

Its really hard core discrimination. Alot of Blacks from the north have issues with whites from the South. They have been told we're all "crackers" and such. And even in the South, alot of the young black community looks upon whites as victims.

Its really sad in that alot of the caucasian folks I know have no issues with folks of African descent. But that is not the case from the black community.
