And when they do report actual news, as in this recent article in the AP, here is how they informed us: Layoffs slow to 539K in April; jobless rate rises. So there is good news; and an afterthought.
Perhaps to make my point a bit clearer, I will show you what the AP would have titled this story had Bush been president, instead of Obama: Layoffs continue downward spiral; unemployment reaches crisis levels.
Despite the fact that we lost 539,000 more jobs this week, the AP reports this as "not so bad" news under ObamaNation. I'm sort of getting used to getting the "optimistic" view of the news these days.
Obama: "Ok American, today, uh I have uh decided to give a tax cut of uh $1500 to everybody who works at a 7-Eleven. And add $2500 to that, if you uh drive a uhChevy! And if you entered the country uh illegally and won't provide your birth certificate. Make it happen, Rahm...Strike that last part!"
The other day the stock market rose seven (7) points, and it was reported as if we were in a new bull market. News anchors were jubilant that the market remained flat, and had not tanked—the norm in The Era of Brown Underwear.

barf!
THE MSM and the Obama worship, that is.
I understood, Lynn!

This makes me sick.
@Wayward - I'm sure you mean Obama, and not the blog! :-)
gbudavid
I now believe that the only person more stupid than Biden may be Obama. And Obama is just as unpredictable:
Obama: "Ok American, today, uh I have uh decided to give a tax cut of uh $1500 to everybody who works at a 7-Eleven. And add $2500 to that, if you uh drive a uh Chevy! And if you entered the country uh illegally and won't provide your birth certificate. Make it happen, Rahm...Strike that last part!" FTA... I say DITTO...
The LSM is out of control...kinda, but not quite, like the bad guy Elliot Carver in the Bond flick...Tomorrow Never Dies. They are almost "inventing" the news. What I find disheartening, is, many people believe it. "I heard it on TV, so it must be correct."
We've got a long row to hoe.
@Sam - I agree, but we can also provide news. People don't believe the news as much anymore, and the Repubs and conservatives need to be just as ruthless in reporting against the Dems.
www.openzine.com/theblacksphere is one such outlet!! Check it out!
You are exactly right, Kevin. With all the talk about the Obama landslide, they missed a few points.
1. The hatred of Bush
2. The financial crisis last fall
3. McCain's very old,tired appearance(Reagan at 70 looked 10x better)
4. McCain's poor debate performance and lack of mental acuity
Now, despite all of that, 46% of voters placed the ballot for McCain and he was actually polling ahead until the financial crisis.
Some mandate.
Renee Taylor at 8:38am May 10
"Why Barack Loves Her" on US Magazine.. I may lose my breakfast...
@Renee - I completely agree! Lucky for me, only dry heaves today, since I ate a couple of hours ago!
@Anon - I completely agree! No mandate here! Let's prove it next election!
And yet there are still those who believe what they hear other than study the facts.
On another subject, I honestly don't think his wife is the next Jackie O nor do I like her style.
@Berlin - I couldn't agree more. She looks like the black version of the "Madame" puppet of 80s fame! IMO, she is not pretty WITH makeup, but without it, she's hideous!
Melanie Klecha-Jones at 8:47am May 10
Saw Michelle "RuPaul" in the latest issue of People as one of their 100 most beautiful. She seriously looked like she had just eaten a small child, absolutely hideous...

I just threw up a little bit in my mouth... guh
This is the culmination of a fifty year plan. The Leftists (let's call them what they are) started by taking over the schools and universities and dumbing-down America. They took over the media and the judiciary. They implemented speech codes and shouted down anyone who had a different view. They perfected "the Big Lie".
Now they own it all because we failed to stop them, too afraid of being called names like "racist", or "sexist", or hatemongers. Some wanted them to "like" us. We fell into their spending trap.
Now we have to put on our own 50-year push. We must use the truth. The Truth still sets one free. We must be relentless. It will be a long slog against a firmly entrenched opponent. I will not see resolution in my lifetime. I hope to see progress.
@Deekeman - GREAT summary!
I still think someone needs to organize a type of "protest/tea party- whatever it takes" in front of CNN, NBC, ABC... all of the mainstream media outlets to let them know that we aren't going to take this type of reporting anymore. We have had it... If journalism is dead then we need to give it a burial. We need to cause such a stink that they will have no choice but to report it...especially if it's in their own backyard. I'm so tired of it.
Kevin, you need to get into the political arena. The time has come for you.
Wow. Just found this blog via a comment on another blog.
Your latest analysis of media reporting bias (Media Lovefest with Obama continues) is great: there are so many hidden assumptions in the reporting, I had missed half the ones you pointed out.
I like your blog so much I've linked to it on my blog (reclaimtheblue.wordppress.com) and can't wait to read your book.
Kevin: Today the press lies with no fear of being "found-out." Dan Rather was finally "found-out" and lost his job - although it did take some time. That would not happen today. Today, the msm makes the news that furthers their agenda. They will push until the backlash begins to sting, then they pull back and wait for the next opportunity. Liberal America sucks it up.
Your analysis and Deekaman's comment is spot-on. Where do we go from here?
I agree, to put it in Mark Levin's terms, the anti-Statist movement is growing. But, I'm not sure that the Repulicans are going to be the answer. I became a Republican because of people like Jack Kemp, Uncle Newt, and the honored Ronald Wilson Reagan. Many others did too. With Mcain & Jeb Bush out there touring around trying to figure out what Republicans want in a leader, all they are really saying is "how little do we have to differ from the Democrats to still get elected?" We need leaders who stand up and say "this is what I believe, this is why, and I would love the chance to convince you why I'm right". Right now our choices are Social Stateism (Dems) and social Stateism Light (GOP, I choose not to play their game.
@Anon - Not sure what to add to what you said about confronting the media! Make that your issue!
@Toni - Not likely I would get into politics, i.e. run, however I do plan on being a "power broker."
@Al - Thanks for discovering me! And for buying my upcoming book. More on that soon!
@Maggie - We will turn the ship sooner than you think. People are just as sick of the Dems and that is less reported!
@Phil - Hang in there with the Republicans! We will get it together. The MSM doesn't report it, but the Dems are more screwed up!
Phil: I agree. Another leader with convictions and the courage to speak out on them would be another Reagan.
Don't see anybody like that yet. Maybe it's time for a real third party.
Debbie Fancher at 10:18am May 10
great insight! I'm sick of this horrid media bias.... Journalism died and we need to bury it! :)
Toni Albani at 10:29am May 10
It never ends. The fawning is sickening.
Phil Hutsler at 11:21am May 10
Loved the rant Kevin, keep it up.

Once again theblacksphere reminds us of the useless media that poisons the minds of the lemmings day in and day out. If only they would wake up and take note.
The suggestion that Republicans find a leader is valid and important, indeed. However, given our current cast of characters, it won't be easy. Who among them can combat the sleight of hand that the Democrats have mastered?
Kevin, I just found your blog as someone posted the link on Town Hall.
Excellent! My lucky day!
Os course, you’re spot on with the LSM... B. Hussein’s primary campaign promoter and current propaganda machine.
While wandering through your site, I happened to see the picture of BO (the dog) swimming, while BO (the fraud who’s living in our White House) walking on water, which reminded me of a story that went around DC after the Pope visited.
Seems Pres. Bush and the Pope were sailing on the Potomac, and the Pope’s cap blew off. Before anyone in the crew could jump into the river to retrieve the Pope’s cap, Pres. Bush motioned that he would retrieve the cap. He stepped over the side of the sailboat, walked on the water, retrieved the cap and brought back to the Pope.
The next day the Washington Post headline read, “PRES. BUSH CAN’T SWIM!”
He's got a lot of nerve to take that huge motorcade and all those people out just to get a hamburger, when so many Americans cannot afford that. Our dad's not taken a paycheck in 6 months, trying to keep his business alive. We can't go out at all, not even for a burger. We (teens) are the only ones in our family with jobs. He's completely out of touch with us and with reality.
MCMTB, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
Don’t forget the staff dinners with $135/lb. steaks. (That’s one of my own personal favorites.)
The list could go on and on and on…. And, undoubtedly, it will.
BO is having a hamburger. I'm having chicken, where's my news crew? I mean, good grief, is there so little good news and the spin on all the disasterous news from this man's administration is so used up that they had to report about him having a hamburger. I wonder what that will do from his animal rights supporters? I honestly can't build up the emotion to actually care.
I guess the media is so desparate to cover that unemployment is so bad, the worse in over 25 years, that they had to come to him and say "Mr. B, we can't find a way to spin this to make you look good. Let's go out for a burger and spin that". Having been one of those statistics for 15 months, I can tell you it's really bad out there. The work I got is only part time (so I'm underemployed) and will no longer count. Another note, I've learned when it comes to good news or bad, the government never gets the numbers correctly. I figure, halved the good news and double the bad to get the real figures so unemployment is most likely really 18%, not 8.9%. That doesn't include people like me that are underemployed. Figure that in and the economy really is as bad since the beginning of World War 2, most of which happened during BO's stupid policies.
Having the media go gaga over anything BO does is nothing new or surprising. Those of us with brains know the media is now the lapdog of the democratic party, no longer the government watchdog that they were designed to be. They will go and make themselves look stupid to make this fool look smart. Wait til next months unemployment numbers come up. I guess we'll hear how he had to use the restroom and to be like us went at a gas station (which make news as a bio attack on the President). I just hope they don't give all the details for that one, but I would be surprise if they do.
Once again an excellent post. And even though I think you would make a great candidate I know you're too honest to ever run, GRIN. The headlines on this man make me grimace and laugh at the same time. Its just so much "Who the heck gives a ....." well you know. Lets talk about some real issues folks. Talking heads, the media is just talking heads.
@Anne - Glad you found me Anne! Great comments, and I love the interaction!
@MCMTB - God BLESS your family! Your father for his entrepreneurship, and you guys for helping chip in! That's what this country is all about, and not elitist, racist like Obama.
@madmath1 - The LSM is incredulous. I predict people like me will put them in their place...the grave...in a few years. You won't even FIND a newspaper in the next decade!
@Julie - I might run to say I did...then I'd likely win!
Lisa Schinagel at 3:23pm May 10
Something like this; Look at the way he holds that hamburger- It is so " Leader-Like!" And the way he chews- my gosh Michelle,Nancy and Harry have got to extremely proud!!Yes yes this proves beyond a shadow of doubt that everything is going to be ALRIGHT!!!LOL
Debbie Fancher at 3:25pm May 10
Hmmmm.... he eats his burger exactly like Chavez eats his...... I wonder if????????............ LOL
Man you hit this nail on the head!
@PartysOver - Thanks for the props!
Taquoshi
The real bite will come next April when we all have to "pay back" the mistaken amount of withholding because the IRS did the charts incorrectly. Oh yeah, we "get" a tax "break" and then they take it back....probably with interest. Why isn't B.O. dealing with that issue? That's going to have major financial implications -- and it can't be blamed on Bush, but oh, how they will try.
"a biological attack on the US could appear as…Swine Flu originating in say, Mexico?" - Wow. That's deep. I like the term 'lamestream media' too. As stated earlier, you hit the nail on the head.
@taquoshi - O doesn't want to tell peeps to give the mula back!
@Larry - The key is that we would NEVER know, if Swine Flu was because of terrorist, since the LSM wouldn't tell us!
The number went down because there aren't as many people left in the workplace to lay off. Under the Obama Media system, just as soon as unemployment reaches 100% everything will be fine because eventually there will be no new applicants for unemployment.
@uppitywoman08 - I agree uppity, and glad to have you over. It's been a while! :-)
Katrina Simmons at 4:09pm May 10
the bias is disgusting. and its like they know they are in the tank and they are not even bothering to hide it. objective journalism is dead and gone.
It is very obvious that they do not teach journalistic values in colleges and universities anymore. They teach journalism marketing and call it argumentative and persuasive writing.
The printed newspaper will go away. The medium has not adapted to the changes in how people want their news and it only reports its agenda. So smart readers have abandoned the paper in favor of the web. Most major papers are only used for the Sunday circulars and as bird cage liner. No journalism. Opinions used to be for the Op Ed page now they lead as news.
I have told my children for years to not believe wholeheartedly anything that they read or hear (even from me) unless they can verify it themselves. Case in point, "Santa Claus"! Many of us have done it to our children yet they believe it until such time that they find out the realities of him.
But don't say anything about my beloved Tooth Fairy. She is real!
Sir RonB
Kevin-It was becoming so depressing reading Townhall etc. because there is just so much doomsday complaining one can take. Luckily, a bunch of posters from that site gave your blog's link and I checked it out. I think I have seriously injured myself laughing too hard!! You have saved me! I couldn't get enough of it all! I grew up loving MAD Magazine and your pictures reminded me of that humor. I will be coming back every day. Thank you for keeping hope alive (OOPS, sorry about that!!) This is change we can believe in (OK I'll stop now!!)
@SirRonB - The tooth fairy IS real! And she's cute, too!
@83pups - Glad you found me, and got a few laughs!

Go American, is the best way! Not the media way!
I've often wondered if, since the press can be sued for liable, they could also be sued for reckless endangerment. I believe that the lack of real reporting has endangered the country's economy and safety. Reckless endangerment.
@Tommi - Not sure if you can sue them, but I will tell you that we can certainly minimalize them!
I heard a conversation last night, can't remember the program, talking about how the press covered for the Edwards affair and didn't report it in a timely manner. The crux was, that had it been reported, Hillary would have been in a much better place in the primaries.
Interesting. So many what ifs, when it comes to the press. With even moderate reporting on the Obama issues, things would have been different.
@Maggie - Yes, that's a good example of the press showing who they were for! Amazing!
Kevin I will most certainly post your blog address to what ever conservative website I go to,I have spread the word to all my friends who follow our way of thinking...thanks again for this little slice of heaven, you keep writing good stuff like you have posted and I will do my part too spread the word.
To Anne,if your the same wonderful Lady who posts on Town Hall form PA. then I would like to say hello and nice to meet you.lets hope Hal,wobbie the wanger, will et.al don't show up and poison this oasis!perhaps we can tell joel, retired geek, and gunny about this blog!
Hi Will68 :-)
Yes, it's me. Thank you, but I'm really sure there are a lot of dumb-o-crats who refer to me as anything BUT "wonderful."
I agree... I'm spreading Kevin's URL via email so as not to alert the intellectually limited libs...
@Anne and Will68 I am happy that you guys were able to reconnect, and to have both of you supporting our efforts. Though I author this blog, The Black Sphere is a group of people all committed to making a difference. Thanks again!

Save us from what? He cannot even save himself from stupid remarks and crooks. He has more crooks in his cabinet than Soledad Prison.
Sheila Brannon Pinda at 7:11am May 13
I've already been saved too. I can deal with politicians who are crooks and liars, but the entourage that is in power scares me for myself, my friends and my children. They are power grabbers. THERE IS NO HATE INVOLVED! Wolves in sheep's clothing.
Sheila Brannon Pinda at 7:49am May 13
Thank you for reminding me Who really is in power...living by faith and not by what we see.
Well we just had our budget brought down in Oz. The good news is that our debt is not as bad as the USA - ROFL
I like the new name for the media - lamestream media says a lot about what is being delivered in your country and ours.
BTW I just had to teach my husband that the big deficit is not the work of Bush because the Dems were in control of Congress for the past 2 years. Your system is very different from ours.
BTW I vote ugly Michell O as the worst dressed first lady in my lifetime.
And I agree with those barf comments - she is ugly and it is an inner ugliness that we see.
@Maggie - I agree, not all Bush's fault, but he was too 'compassionate conservative', and didn't get in the Dems' grill!
Kevin I have not given Bush a pass because he did some not so good things. One of them was to decrease taxes during a time of war - Keynes actually argued that taxes should be increased rather than relying upon credit at such a time.
However, your system is very complex compared to the Australian system and that includes the way in which the President is elected as well as the power that is given to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and of the Senate.
Here in Australia, the Governor General is the Queen's representative. It is a non-elected position. As the head of state it is more comparable to the President than our Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister is the leader of the party that wins the elections. Unfortunately we are stuck with Krudd until the lamestream media begin to get miffed and start acting like real journalists.
Our budget process is also different because there is none of this going backwards and forwards between say the Governor's mansion and the Parliament. The document is the work of the government. It then has to be passed by both Houses of Parliament. Some proposals will get defeated, which will be a good thing.
What is worrying is that Krudd is following Obummer and Obummer is copying Krudd. The Krudd government took the reins where there was a surplus and now there is a $50billion deficit due to the pork in a "stimulus" package that was not necessary given the strength of the economy when it was rammed through the Parliament.
Australia also has a better approach to the census. It is handled by an independent office of the government - Bureau of Census and Statistics. We also have a better independent electoral system - the Australian Electoral System. We do not register according to party. We just register as individuals. There are a number of checks and balances with the electoral officers actually going around and checking who actually lives at an address from time to time. However, the rot comes from redistribution of electoral boundaries.
@Maggie - We could learn a lot from Australia. Don't be surprised if I move there one day!
Mr. Jackson; It is because of people like you, newspapers and nightly news-less programs are losing favor. I have only visited your sight a few times. I will be back. Keep up the good information and commentaries. I will pass it on. Thank you.
CharlieEcho
@CE - Thanks for the visit! Glad you will return!
