My other reason for the blackout was that when asked, "What were you doing when Obama was sworn in?", I wanted to be able to honestly say that I was handling important matters, matters that were on par with the pageantry in DC.
For example at the precise moment that Obama was to be sworn in, I made sure that I was prominently placed on the porcelain crown in my master bathroom… in honor of the moment. For those inquisitive minds, yes #2.
So I awakened this morning with a renewed spirit, figuring that I had missed all the pomp and circumstance of yesterday, only to be greeted by the media orgy over all that is Obama. Looking at how the festivities are continuing today, I can only imagine the hoopla from yesterday. I must admit, I am curious as to what a $200M party looks like. Something tells me that the new president will show us excesses beyond belief. I have already heard the word trillion more than a Tiffany's jeweler.
Despite my blackout, as you know news has a way of leaking in. So I did catch snippets of news here and there, and am just getting caught up on the stories of the yesterday.
So the first story I was hit with was Obama's speech. People describe it as somber…black. I chuckle at the irony. I guess people were expecting yet another flowery speech, full of sunshine and rainbows, and sprites dancing about, only to be greeted by a more somber Obama. I heard he told the next generation to "lower expectations". Good luck lowering expectations Madame President.
I learned that the Dow dropped over 300 points yesterday. Apparently the Dow celebrated the Obama Era appropriately, setting a record low for a president entering office. A record low, for a record low. I must say, the Dow got it right, even if the media didn't.
And then I heard an excerpt from a "pastor" who spoke, saying things like, "…brown can stick around, yellow should be mellow…". Talk about a circa 60's throwback. That's pimp talk. Tell me this "pastor" was wearing a fur coat and a fedora…with a feather? The new administration ushered in by a relic. A poverty pimp. A race baiter.
So the administration that is supposed to showcase the racial harmony is in fact showcasing more racial divisiveness. When was the last time you heard race discussed this much in America? And wasn't the election of Obama supposed to be the end of racism. Yet, Colin "Turncoat" Powell was on TV this morning saying, "…this is just a first step". Liberal hypocrite. We Conservatives had a mole in our midst with Powell. Those Liberals are tricky little animals.
The era of ObamaNation was showcased in all its ghetto-fabulous glamour yesterday. We are back to the era of style over substance, ignorance over knowledge, hypocrisy over accountability. So as would be expected from ObamaNation, they booed outgoing President Bush.
As much as any good Conservative couldn't stand Clinton, we didn't boo the man when he left. But ObamaNation has no respect for tradition or decorum. And they would have you think they are the "tolerant" bunch, and the dictionary definition of liberal.
Here's the wrap:
George Bush was a good president, who probably faced the toughest media in the history of America. Yet he never sacrificed his core, even when it didn't suit fellow Republicans or Conservatives. And no matter what, nobody can argue that he was unyielding in his protection of America.
The idea that yesterday all across America, the picture of a true American patriot was taken down from all federal buildings, and it was replaced with the picture of Obama, well that was the real story of yesterday.
That's my rant!

That old man isn't just an old poverty pimp and race baiter, he's an old Jew baiter too.. solidarity with Arafat, all that junk... he truly took this opportunity to stick a finger in the eye of all those he's had it in for all these years.. surprised he didn't mention the evil occupation of the zionists.. that was the low point of a low day, and sure enough he got more applause than anybody.
ick.

Big Dave, I feel you. Understand that I didn't even catch his name, due to my "media blackout"! I'm not surprised by your revelation, however!
When a man is exalted beyond all reason and logic, there is a natural repulsion in people of sound mind.
ps: my word verification is "inalie"
pretty fitting for today.
I hope yours is a good one.
I am off to the icerink to dance my self dizzy
Kevin, I want to get your thoughts on something. Something that bothered me about yesterday's events was that everything was in reference to Obama's race. It shouldn't be about race. It should be about the man. By making it about race, the media tries to make it look like the USA is racist. Just my thoughts. I love the blog. Keep up the good work and keep fighting for conservatism.
I disagree with anon...I watched on and off so I didn't see the entire 24 hours of Obama.
I have to say I am very surprised and thrilled that the pastor recited the Jewish prayer called the shma. 'Hear O Israel, the LORD our God the LORD is ONE.'
I eagerly await the first public school teacher fired for refusing to remove a picture of President Obama from her classroom.

I hope they don't make me wait too long...
Well, Kevin, I believe we should henceforth refer to your actions while Obama was being sworn in as "denauguration".

A great "rant" from blacksphere...I do believe we are back in the '60's again...I couldn't have said it better....thanks for the post RedOctober

Awesome!
Paul, it's about race, because we "devolved" back into the 60s. Understand that Blacks are determined to "re-live" the 60s, but from a position of power. Obama allows us to go back in time, and make it different.
Mark Bergeron at 9:27am January 21
I'm still sick about it... and look what he's doing already with Gitmo. It truly is Day 1 (1,459 to go... I just hope we make it that far)....
Susan Swift at 10:17am January 21
I love what you planned for the time Obama was sworn in. Very appropriate since I did watch and all I saw was alot of s**t.
Scott Timbs at 10:27am January 21
The media and Hollywood is in truly in love with this guy. Just watch and see how different the media coverage is when Obama screws up compared to the feeding frenzy that went on when there was the slightest blunder from Bush.
Although I must say that I am proud to say that I live in a country that was willing to put It's prejudice past behind and elect an African-American President. I just wish it would have been a conservative.
Excellent Rant...as usual. I too could not bear to watch the circus yesterday. My job closed the office for 1 hour and dragged in a TV. I was the only one NOT in attendance. I guess everyone forgets that 58 million voters did not vote for BO yet they expect respect for him when they gave none to Bush.
Good for you, Lilith. People are interesting today...worried about their jobs, but still Obamatrons. I told them that it would get worse, just to brighten their day.
I still like my niece's inadvertent name for him...Barack Ovomit.
@Amy - Hysterical! I will have to commandeer that name!
I was watching about parasitic twins on the learning channel: much more informative, and a lot less nauseating.
In light of so many Americans suffering in the U.S. financially, I am sickened to see so many wealthy celebrities showing off their wealth here in Washington, as if they don't have a care in the world. I have never seen anything like this in my life. It appears, all of Hollywood entertainers and the music industry have come to Washington showing off their wealth by partying, drinking liquor, and being driven around in expensive vehicles. Politicians like D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and others are partying like it's one big social elitist affair and the average U.S. citizen is not included. I will be glad when the inauguration is over and things in D.C. will get back to normal with all the stars and glamour gone. I didn't support Barack Obama or any of the candidates, because I didn't like their stance on the illegal immigration issue. In the end, I wrote in the name of Moses of Mount Sinai. I have never seen people go crazy and act the way they are acting in celebration of the 44th President of the United States. With all the tight security, bridges closed from Virginia, and many streets closed downtown Washington have turned many native Washingtonians off from participating in the festivities, because it's such a hassle to attend. I hope the President elect will not be a disappointment to the majority of black America and Hollywood. Let's wait patiently and see!
"For example at the precise moment that Obama was to be sworn in, I made sure that I was prominently placed on the porcelain crown in my master bathroom… in honor of the moment. For those inquisitive minds, yes #2."
ROFLMBAO~Kevin, Kevin, Kevin....What are we going to do about your "dooty" and butt fixation? You are hysterical!!! Stop it....
Robin, good to hear from you! I have no fixations, just think that area of the human body is most fitting! Glad to hear from you, as I have missed you!
Laurie R. at 2:14pm January 21
Kevin, this was one of your best blogs!
I too was on a "black out".....
and told I was a hater for it...
honesty, I literally couldn't stomach it... LITERALLY!
Yet, in our disapproval... we would never "boo" the President...
Again, liberal low class hypocrisy...
Toby Marie Walker at 3:53pm January 21
I wouldn't boo Obama. That is just too rude for me. I may not like him, but the booing... no I couldn't do it. I would have no problem sitting and talking to him, being civil, heck I might even like him as a person. But politically, I don't agree with him and still wouldn't boo him.
Another thing I am tired of. My grandparents on one side were from Sweden, the other side German. I consider myself an American, not a Swedish German American, just American. Because I am here, born here, raised here, probably will die here. American.
Now to President Bush. When asked why he never defended himself against the media attacks he said it wasn't important and he knew what the truth was, he didn't believe in tooting his own horn. But a General I heard said if he could talk about classified information we would be in awe about what President Bush accomplished. Poor trashy manners to boo him out of office and just what I would have expected by the people who voted Obama in. I still am in shock anyone now a days would fall for all the fake promises. Were they all born yesterday?
Well, I can tell you what I was doing during the poopla. What I've been doing for the last 11 months: looking for a job and with the insane discrimination and hate laws he wants, it's about to get a lot uglier. I blacked out the stupidity and now I hear some teachers are being threaten with firings because they didn't show the coronation. So much for being a free country.
OMG, Kevin. Everytime I do #2, I am going to think about the inauguration! LOL!
What keeps entering my brain is that the bias of the media and unfair treatment of Bush, Palin, etc. will ensure that America remains divided based on differing ideology. The media will keep the bitterness alive. And those stupid liberals need to get over it. Many of them keep ranting about Bush. I feel like telling them "Bush is gone.. get over it.. you won so shut up about it".
- Laura
I too stayed away from the news yesterday. I, in fact, have given up watching tv news, and I was a junkie. What's the point? It's so biased.
My question to everyone is, we can't keep our heads in the sand and do nothing, but how do we fight back? I feel like my party has left me too so there's no point in the old "contact your congressmen".
I listened to it on Rush while I engaged in Wii Fit Boxing to get out the aggression.
You know what he's starting to remind me of? The drug dealer in the neighborhood who buys a lot of support in the community with drug money, money earned by destroying the people in the neighborhood. Instead of drugs he's pushing dependence, but it's the same racket.
Okay, like the others, I will never take a #2 and not think about that day again! And yes, I sent your blog ALL over, just like I told you I would. Next stop, FOX TV!!! Anyone else want to help me get Kevin a job with FOX? I plan to start a petition!! What do you think??
Thanks for another great post. Glad I will be getting them daily!
Diane
Julie, we are indeed all American...first! And yes it was classless to boo Bush. Finally, I would hate to know all that he protected us from!
Madmath1 - Hang in there. The persecution has begun, but you will muddle through. We will be done with these knuckleheads as soon as somebody attacks America on our soil.
Laura and Diane, that's not the worst visual I could have given you! As for Fox, get me a job, and I am there, slapping Libs on TV!
Fishy, they are pushers! And nice job with the wii! I love mine! Thanks for visiting!
I beleive I was sleeping in, laying on the couch watching a old black & white movie during his swearing in.
Then I went to work at the tax office and listened to clients talk about PBO, and his glory. There they go again assuming cause I'm black I voted for him. When I told them I didn't vote for him, I would get a stare, silence, and then "Wow"," Really".
I love to tell others I ain't on that gravey train.
I teach a evening class at a local college, and opened the class discussion by asking the students did they watch the show. OMG! There was explosion of comments, and praise like I told them the mid-term exam was going to be open-book test! Not!
The ones speaking out was only half of the class of 20, of which three are black, one even had on a silk-screen print tee-shirt with PBO face staring at me. I wasn't convicted by his stare, it don't scare me.
I let them go one for a couple minutes, and then announced I didn't vote for him because I don't agree with his policies.
Hee, Hee, Hee, I felt like ROTFLMHO! Instead, I took avantage of the silence in the room, said "Now, lets move on to the text..we finished chapter 1, now lets move on to chapter 2...
I have to get my cheap thrills somewhere :)
Rosebud, you crack me up as usual. Glad somebody is teaching sanity to those "younguns"!

"The new administration ushered in by a relic."
In the military planning, one must try to escape the mindset of trying to fight tomorrow's war with yesterday's strategy. That speech was a weapon from a war that fought and won a long time ago.
Zubata
The war was indeed fought and won a long time ago. However, the current actions of some just might cause a resurgence of the feelings and attitudes that most of us left behind a long, long time ago.
Black Sphere, your comment:
"Understand that Blacks are determined to "re-live" the 60s, but from a position of power. Obama allows us to go back in time, and make it different."
has really helped me to understand why this racial divide thing has permeated Obama's campaign & his inauguration. I think you've nailed it.
Great post, as usual. That "prayer" was offensive & inappropriate. socalannie
"ObamaNation has no respect for tradition or decorum."
So right. Of course, I'm one of those who rolls his eyes and sighs heavily when the "Go, Tiffany!" shouts come up as Tiffany walks across the stage to get her high school/college diploma, or dances with the other 6 year old wannabe ballerinas. Just a complete lack of class. Grumblegrumblegrumble...
Joebros1
BTW, verification was "pophyp" - how appropriate!
Kevein, I hope you don't mind me reminding your readers, but today is March For Life. Thousands of people are in the same place that our new president was just sworn in, asking him to change his heart about this. You can see it on almost any religious channels. Unfortunately, not too much on mainstream tv. EWTN has the best coverage, cuz they just cover it. I hope you don't mind me putting this here as a friendly little reminder.
Oops typo on your name. Of course you know I meant Kevin. Sorry about that. :)
The most entertaining part of the inauguration was Aretha Franklin's hat. She can still belt out a tune too.
I listened to Obama's entire speech and wasn't moved. Okay, I was moved...to tune in to Rush Limbaugh to hear what he had to say.
Still, I heard President Obama (Gasp! I said it!) out to give him that honor and managed to pick up Lowery's dated speech (or prayer) after the fact.
I've added you to my StumbleUpon network and I will stumble this highly entertaining thread.
Diane, by all means reach out to the readers of this blog, and remind them that our new "leader" is a pro-abortionist, and with one swoop has now allowed the US to begin the exportation of abortion.
Matthew, thanks for the stumbleupon add. I have struggled with the social networking sites, so any help is appreciated.
Okay - this was way too funny and too entertaining! Yet, I got your point and a well-made point it was. You go Black Sphere! Wow...that's all I can say.
I, too, will stumble you. You should join us "conservatives" on Stumble Upon. Now THAT would be a blast!!

I love Rosebud's comment
Man I would have wanted to laugh like crazy too. She must be very cool. I like how she waited for the class to get all of that out before she dropped her bomb harhar
Kevin, this is quite a great blog you have going on here; there's plenty for all to see and enjoy. I came here through Dominique's excellent blog.
Thankfully, some other pastors and I had a Pastoral Covenant Group (PCG) meeting at the same time Mr. Obama was being sworn in as our president. After a long day at the meeting, I somehow thought I'd get to watch some news or something good on the tube during the evening, but that just didn't happen. The coronation went on through the night. Brother!
I will definitely be looking at your blog from time to time. If you like, you are certainly welcome to drop by my blog - From Preacherpen's Desk any time you like.
Pastor Ron, I am indeed in need of some of the Good Word! I will visit soon!
I guess I don't understand the whole Obama thing and how so many people view him as the world’s savior. I thought that title was reserved for Jesus, that being said I am dumbfounded that O would close Guantanamo prison and then agree to send 30,000 new troops over to Iraq and Afghanistan, its one of those things that make me scratch my head.
Obama took an oath of office to PROTECT the United States from both enemies’ foreign and domestic, so in my opinion he has all ready violated his oath of office by closing Guantanamo.
The people that are there folks are bad people who would not think twice before slicing your neck open in the name of Ali or Jihad or just for pure fun. These terrorist want to destroy the America but that doesn't matter to liberals or progressives or whatever the hell name they think up next. No we are more worried about how they have been tortured. Do you people realize that yes we have tortured them but also have give these thugs better health care then even you or I could receive or for that matter than they have received
If it were up to me I would have used much harsher torture techniques if it meant saving one more American life. For the first time in my life I am ashamed of the WHAT WE ARE BECOMING AS A NATION!
We live in a land where English can not even be considered as the official language of the United States because it might offend someone! Obama wants to allow children under the age of 16 to be able to get abortions across state lines without parental consent! I have to pay my taxes but the person that is going to be in charge of the IRS JUST FORGOT TO and made a grave mistake for years, GIVE ME A BREAK! Eric Holder our new Attorney General was instrumental in releasing and pardoning members of the FLAN Terrorist group during Clinton's last days and our new Secretary of Homeland Security has no problems with allowing Illegal Crimaliens into her state without repercussion or prosecution, and yet people boo'd President Bush when he left office, yet we have not been attacked on our soil since 911.
Meanwhile others including myself have been called raciest and haters because we oppose every thing this administration stands for. Only in America can a man be elected to the highest office in the land on a platform of hope while having no experience! Well I leave you with this Hope in one hand shit in the other and see which fills up first.
Marc-
That was poignant and passionate. I actually have goosebumps after reading your comment.
It's a scary world we live in when we offer better health care to the enemy than that which our own soliders are receiving. The ones that fight for this country...not the ones that are willing to harm it for no better reason than to achieve glory and virgins in the afterlife.
I love my country, but it's times like this that I want to shake the vast majority, and ask them what they're thinking. It's like being surrounded by lemmings, and everyone's jumping off the cliff because it's the popular thing to do. I guess we're just not the popular kids. We're the Chess Club of the United States right now. Way smarter, better with strategy, but we'll never take the prom queen home.
And, I hope for all of our sakes, that the hand with Hope will prevail, and overflow abundantly.
Amy - Wow, you're a poet! I like the analogy of us being "geeks" who can't date the prom queen. Very true.
I too decided to take part in a "media blackout." I was disgusted on Wednesday when I heard snippets of the "pastors" racially charged speech and all the pomp and circumstance that came with the swearing in of the new "Messiah."
For those of you interested, here's a YouTube video that best captures the madness that is Obama:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdPSqL9_mfM
Kevin, thank you for your blog. Please report to your fans in detail what exactly the Freedom of Choice act is...they really need to know. I am unsure as to how the closing of Gitmo will benefit this country also. I question his desire to create a "civilian military" that sounds downright creepy. Why more laws to persecute terrorists and what exactly is his definition of a terrorist? Why all this change for social issues yet he is ignoring that every city in this country is decaying? I do not believe that the media is interested in racial aspects of this election, but rather their own agenda to push forward the Culture of Death. We had Alan Keyes, a highly respected Black man running for the same spot..no one even knew he was running. Why? Because he was ProLife. The media however, is very good at thinking for people. I am sure there are fringes of racism here and there in this country on all sides of the color spectrum, but the vast vast majority of us want ALL of our brothers and sisters to see success regardless of race. The media will have us believe otherwise. I choose to pray for this man to come to his senses...from viewing his agenda at the whitehouse web site I can see it is all about ushering the "change" of socialism and the culture of death.
Anon, I think you said it as well as I could have. Thanks for your passion...
I think it is truly awful that Obamination snubbed the Vets and skipped the Heroes ball!!
President Bush would NEVER have EVER done that.
